The Supersonic Project proposes a new manufacturing route able to develop new materials solutions and to cover important present technological gaps in industrial fields such as mechanical, aeronautical, biomedical.

Using different bulk materials such alloys, ceramic and composites it will be possible to avoid surface damages, to improve wear behaviour and chemical inertness, and to generate a new class of solid lubricants and tribological materials for mechanical/aeronautical applications. Favouring biocompatibility and osseointegration mechanisms is the main goal concerning the biomedical application field.
